Details Spring - Summer 2010

Weaving, fringes, strucks, zips, chains, patterns, flowers are some of the main characteristics that we saw on shoes and bags at the S/S 10 shows.

From Alexander McQueen's Armadillo platforms to Lanvin's ladylike pumps with chain details, Miu Miu ' s patterned Mary-Jane platforms and Louis Vuitton's kitten heels-this season has a bit of everything to please every taste. As for bags, the main "competitors", among others, are Chanel's women Coco Country bags , Prada's transparent PVC bags, Celine's robot luggage bag and Fendi's tapestry Peekaboo bags.

What do Goofy and Karl Lagerfeld have in common?

Apperently a lot! This month's Spanish Elle is giving us a designer who is who tutorial in the most fun way: Our favorite childhood characters Mickey, Donald and Clarabelle jump out of the magazine's pages and we dive into an almost magical game of dress-up in which they masquerade as all the fashion megatrons: Daisy is Donatella Versace, Donald is Jean Paul Gaultier and of course Goofs is none other than Kaiser Karl....

Paris Spring - Summer 2010

Bubbles bursting into smoke, futuristic mermaids. Striking afro wigs, cartoons. Paris Fashion Week had it all- a spectaculas production, shoecasing unique design. An absolute tribute to fashion that opened with a splendid Alexander McQueen show, the genius who died prematurely, followed by Balmains's contemporary amazons and Chanel's country girls, then the nostalgic and ingenious panels by Lanvin and Valentino, as well as Gareth Pugh's faires. The first rows were occupied by Prince, Rihanna, Kate Moss, Mario Testino and Catherine Deneuve. Farewell Lee.

Dame Vivienne Westwood

Just before the age of seventy. Vivienne Westwood is ageless. She manages to provoke without provoking. She rewrites contemporary history. She designs fashion for real people.

She dressed men as pirates for the Summer 2010. As for women, Dame Viv suggests that they adopt the eco messages on the catwalk... Act fast, slow down, stop climate change. Mottos we even saw imprinted on the models' breasts as if they were running for a marathon of hope... For winter 2011 she chose to get inspired from an all-time-classic English woman, the contemporary librarian and from girls that looked as if they came to life from Cecil Beaton's portaits. The history lesson we talking about...
